Record number of exhibitors. Biggest exhibition yet! The 21st IAW International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports opened today in Cologne with the announcement that it has already achieved two new records. The first day of the event was of special significance to four exhibitors in particular ‒ they received the prestigious IAW Trendseller Product Award, which is a very special award for the trade.
The top product for the current IAW show is the “smoothie-maker to go” from the German company Adexi (Rödermark). “The ingenious thing about this product is a small but important new detail”, says Ulrich Eggert of Eggert Consulting, a member of the judging panel. The cutting blade can be removed and replaced with a lid, which means that after mixing, the container becomes a “take-with” flask from which the smoothie can be drunk at home or anywhere.
The panel of experts decided to award second place to the cell phone protective foil or Anti Shock Screen Protection produced by the Bonn-based company One Button GmbH. TV consumer guru Ralf Kühler explains: “The presentation at the exhibition stand clinched it for us. A cell phone display covered with this foil can even withstand blows from a hammer.”
The array of promising products submitted to the panel for this IAW was so extensive that the judges decided to award two third places. Thus bronze went to China-Trading (Cologne) for a Bluetooth Selfie stick, which makes it easy to take selfie photographs of even large groups of people using a cell phone. The other bronze went to the drone Rayline R 806 from Rayline Internationale Trade GmbH (Cologne). This “man’s toy” features an impressive high-resolution HD camera.
Until 5 March the IAW show, attended by 320 exhibitors, will provide trade visitors with a vast selection of promotional products, seasonal and trend-led merchandise that will delight and surprise. The focus of the trade fair is on popular seasonal products, such as gardening and garden products, barbeques, outdoor recreational goods, camping equipment, decorative articles, textiles and travel items – and more besides.
The IAW takes place alongside Asia-Pacific Sourcing in Hall 5 at the Cologne exhibition venue. Two floors of products for the home and garden boast the exhibits of manufacturers and distributors from Hong Kong, China, India, Taiwan and the Republic of Korea.
