The nearfield speaker from the Hamburg-based company Krüger & Gregoriades has won the coveted prize at the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports.
The mobile “COOL BOX” speaker marketed by Krüger & Gregoriades GmbH from Hamburg has won the Trendseller Product Award. Carsten Wedekind, Marketing Head of Krüger & Gregoriades, received the award at the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports (IAW) in Cologne today.
The “COOL BOX“ is a small, lightweight box, scarcely bigger than two cigarette packs, which amplifies the ring tone of a telephone. The nearfield speaker uses the magnetic waves of the mobile and amplifies the sound of the equipment – nothing could be simpler. “No configuration is necessary”, explains Marketing Head Wedekind: “The COOL BOX functions with virtually every type of mobile phone and not only ampflifies music but also the sound of the caller’s voice, which makes it ideal for telephone conferencing. The device has a battery power of up to 10 hours, output of 2 x 3 watt and weighs a mere 195 g. “We were immediately struck by the product”, reports panel member Ulrich Zimmermann, who added: “The high-quality and useful mobile device meets current consumer interests. In view of more than 63 million mobile phone users in Germany alone, there is big sales potential for this product. And with its rubberrized surface the COOL BOX is not only very elegant, but also robust.” Further product information can be found online at www.kg-hamburg.de and at Stand L16 in Hall 10.2.
The second prize went to the Offenbach company tepro Garten GmbH for the Cool Bar. This drinks cooler features double insulated walls and a table top surface that can be adjusted for height. The box has a volume of 39 litres, offfering ample space for drinks and ice cubes. “This product is a true multitalent”, enthused judge and Channel 21 presenter Ralf Kühler: “It is suitable for use indoors and outdoors thanks to tough, easy-to-clean polypropylene surfaces and has a practical handle for carrying. In short, it’s perfect for the World Cup summer.” There is also a Cool Stool version of the product, which – as the name implies – offers integrated seating. Further product information can be found online at www.tepro-gmbh.de and at Stand G56 in Hall 10.2.
The mobile photo studio from Sweety Toys (Lichtenfels-Trieb, Germany) received the third prize. This mobile and foldable lightbox, which has a worldwide patent, is ideally suited to making quality product photos for online shops. Thanks to integrated cathode ray tubes the depicted products always appear in a good light. A perfect device for professional online dealers and for the growing group of private sellers. Regarded as the Oscar of the promotional products sector, the Trendseller Product Award is awarded twice a year at the IAW – the leading trade fair for promotional products and imports. The winning products are selected by a panel of experts in retailing and marketing, including Ulrich Eggert, the Cologne-based retailing expert and researcher, Michael Zygojannis, head of trade and local development at the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Martina Schimmel, editor in chief of zentrada.magazin, Jörg Hamel, Managing Director of the Retailers’ and Service Providers’ Association, Aachen-Düren-Köln, as well as trade fair organizer Ulrich Zimmermann.
The IAW is the most important trade fair for orders of promotional products and trend-led merchandise. Retailers come here to place orders in virtually every product category – from textiles and toys to tools and writing utensils. The event showcases everything that will be appearing in shop windows and displays in Germany and across Europe in the coming months. This spring the IAW will focus on the themed areas of “Garden and Barbeque” and “Outdoor & Camping”. The World Cup in Brazil this summer is expected to generate sales of fan merchandise and themed products, and these will form a big part of the show. The IAW takes place at the Cologne Exhibition Centre and is open until Thursday. Admission is free to trade professionals but prior registration is required.
